Saturday pics (4-25) Razor wire!!

Hey guys! I had big plans for getting out today and hitting a couple different cruises and just blowing your mind with a slew of fresh shots...Well, As Steinbeck wrote...The best laid plans of mice and men are often led astray. I ended up fiddlin with the 54 for a large portion of the day and things just didn't come together for us. My brother did come by in his pickup, and I took the opportunity to ride with him to the parts store with camera in tow. I'd seen this spot with a bit of razor wire wrapped around some gates in passing and thought it was worthy of a chance at trying to work it in a couple shots. Let me know what ya think....

i still don't understand how you don't get chased out of these places. Maybe its becouse i live in a larger city, but I can't hardly pull into a place like that without Cletis coming out and screamin and yelling.

Re: Saturday pics (4-25) Razor wire!!

Andy, You must look suspicious!!!

I use what I like to call my Guerilla style of shooting....I try to be in and out before anyone realizes that I was even there. Unoccupied areas aren't really a problem. Areas that appear to have a tenant/watchman I generally ask permission to take a couple pics. The only time I've ever been told no was when I asked to take a couple pics of a 58-62 Vette that was rotting in some peoples back yard. He asked why I wanted to take a pic and I didn't really have a good answer aside from I just found it interesting. Now, I'm more prepared with answers like "I'm studying photography and thought that this would make a great shot". Incidentally, that vette had been there for as long as I can remember...and it's still there!

I've asked to take some pics of some barns and stuff, and when they get all confused and defensive, I normally say something just like that. It's just the loading dock of an old building, or the parking lot of an older industrial shop.... like what you do... I usually get chased out with the quickness.

Trust me Andy, I think about leaving a good bit too. Especially in July thru Sept!

Andy... they must not care for your 'multi-colored' personality like we do.

I've often wondered the same thing but figure the worst they can do is ask you to leave the grounds.

Great shots Asa!
