well i finly got fed up with the stock stereo and i got a aftermarket one for free but now how do i get it too fit is there like a right up for it or anything cuz i cant even get the old one out

unless you stick it in the glove box or make some kind of mount for it you will have to cut the dash to get it to fit... there is a bolt underneath the dash and the two nuts on the radio knob shafts to remove your old one.. you may want to invest the bucks in the kit that clips to the existing wiring so you dont have to cut your harness too

AFAIK, there isn't a kit that doesn't require cutting for our trucks, but I may be wrong.

You will need an install kit though. Some ABS plastic wouldn't hurt either...

Check out the "Truck Audio" section for a wiring diagram.

Standard 1-DIN mounting "cage", trim ring from Pioneer, and some custom cut ABS plastic. There's a small mounting bracket on the back side of the unit as well for added support.

The head unit comes with a wiring harness that was spliced into the factory harness because there simply wasn't/isn't a plug-and-play harness available.

I can install one without all that plastic and other hobby lobby stuff, but I notch the trim little bit. The ones I've done look perfect but it took more time than a audio install shop would want to spend.

You can do it, but you will have to cut the dash and bezel.
Try looking for the same bezel as yours at the junkyard, but with the hole for the stereo allready cut out, that would save you some trouble.

Use the cage to mark the area you want cut out, but make sure it will line up with the hole in the bezel.
I usually cut the top and bottom of the area, then fold the metal "flaps" back to the inside.

I think there is a plug n play adapter like Rusty said, but are your original speakers worth useing?

Poke, don't try to use a hand saw or tin snips, it will look retarded.

well i got my old stereo out and yeah my speakers are worth using there new but ive found a place to mount the stereo its gunna be a surprise

oh yeah its all done and i have a custom fiber glass box too also i just got done the other day ripping out all my rubber mat and bed lining the floor i just have to find some batteries so i can take some pics

well i snapped a pic of my stereo and it isn't fully finished cuz i still need to put that black thing around it that hides the edges and i am probably snap the pic of the custom fiberglass box later but here is the head unit

I've never seen one put there.
You just need some zip ties and split loom to clean up the wiring haning down.

But what about the old radio hole?

I skipped the extra piece of plastic route and just fit it in where the old radio was...

just ignore the dashboard (that's next on my list)
