do affordable tonneau covers exist?

I'm looking for some pointers on finding an affordable tonneau cover for my 72 SWB. Has anyone used Craftec Inc? They have one for our trucks for $249...I'm just looking for something to cover my bed for daily driving...it's not a show truck or anything. I'm just looking for a black vinal one probably

I just bought an Exstang for about $250. Nice cover with aluminum frame.

Could you post a pict of it on your truck?
Where did you get it from?

Re: do affordable tonneau covers exist?

So $1 more is cheaper?

I`m just messin`with you.It just struck as kinda funny.I think $249/$250 is a plenty cheap range.I paid $200+/- for the custom made ones 20 years ago.I`m sure it`s way more now.

Re: do affordable tonneau covers exist?

The #1 consideration for me is that I "DO NOT" want to drill holes to make my cover fit. Not that I have endless $$$ but after my truck gets out of its resto I am wanting a truck friendly cover.

I got an Extang Black Max through Jegs; total of $233.98 ($224 plus oversize fee). No drilling and frame's gasket is very gentle on the truck. Extremely well made & a great warrantee.
Goofed there when ordering through Jegs though..ordered conditioner also and got charged the $11 handling fee on the $6 purchase since the cover was back ordered (about 10 days). Order just the cover and you should be fine.

BTW-I tried ordering a tonneau through TruckChamp previously, the cover was going to be months away and had a h@ll of a time getting my $ back. Absolutely terrible communications.

Re: do affordable tonneau covers exist?

Not inexpensive, but Gaylord's fiberglass covers are awesome. Custom fit to our trucks, can be painted to match, no drilling required, world's largest secure trunk. Mine was under $1000, factory paint matched, installed, out the door. I would say it is the best investment I made in my truck.

Just get some black spray paint and some velcro, and your set.

It would make a very nice redneck tonneau cover

The redneck tonneau cover is hilarious...I love the picture...I think the cheapest option might just be saran wrap
