Heard a BANG!
I was making my way home from school today doing 60mph and all of a sudden heard a BANG! I pulled over at a nearby lot and got under the truck and all. When it happened I though I backfired or hit a balloon. Nope. Just blew a muffler, 1 down 1 to go! I pulled up home and my dad was outside and asked why the truck sounded louder,, so that confirmed it. I've been wanting to get straight pipes anyway!

Re: Heard a BANG!
Yeah it must have backfired to blow up the muffler.
Could it be running rich? |

Next thing on my list is go to the muffler shop and get straight pipe to replace the mufflers.

Re: Heard a BANG!
Yeah I had one blow on me one time after I washed the engine and underside real good. Scared me to death, because I had my foot in it when leaving the car wash. Then all of a sudden BOOM!

Re: Heard a BANG!
Mufflers only blow up when they have fuel in them and it gets ignited. You're running rich!!!

Re: Heard a BANG!
It's a diesel. No way it could have done that.
