Drum / Disc Swap
I have a '68 gmc half ton that i'm converting to 5-lug. I've already converted the rear to 5-lug and i'm getting ready for the front. I've heard that i might run into clearance problems with my lower control arm. I'm putting '72 chevy front brakes on it and i'm wanting to install 3" drop spindles. Guess i'm asking is there anything to be look out for when i start in a couple of weeks. Thanks.

Re: Drum / Disc Swap
I've got a set of 15's for the truck. They were on the '72 when i bought them. I'm using them cause i've got a set of 1970's gmc hub caps. Just wonder if i go with a 2.5 drop spindles. I've already cut the coils in front about 12 years ago. Just wanting moe of a drop.

Re: Drum / Disc Swap
Just as the others say. If using 15" steel wheels, stay with a 2 1/2" drop spindle. If using a 3" drop spindle, the rim will rub on the lower control arm at the lower ball joint boss. I have run into this with Belltechs on a freinds 72.
