I was wondering if anyone has any info on Yearone's power crate deal
for $2990 it seems like a steal but is it too good to be true? |

Re: opinon of yearone power crate engine?
I had a friend that worked for year one a few years back and they were having alot of trouble out of their big block crate engines, I do not remember what all types of problems there were but he said they were getting alot of them back. That was a couple years ago though.....
On that same note he did tell me that they had sold a couple hundred of the "powercrate 350's" and only had "a couple" come back. Sounds like decent odds.... Just what I have heard. |

Re: opinon of yearone power crate engine?
I was told on the big blocks that they gave the customers another new crate engine for most cases and in a few had the engine "fixed" and returned to that customer.
YearOne is a reputable company and strives to take care of their customers (for the most part). While my buddy was there he said they had a customer purchase a Richmond 6-speed trans for a Nova and when it crapped out on the Hot Rod Power Tour the Year One guys had one flown in same day to replace it and even found a shop to do the work so the guy could get back on the road and not miss any of the Tour. To me, that's good stuff there.... |

That sounds pretty good to me i think I may have to go with this deal. I've always thought of yearone pretty well. Any idea how many your friend meant when he said a "couple" small block ones came back? cause if its like 20 out of hundreds thats still really good.

I can't say for sure because honestly I do not remember but I think he said it was more like 5 or so out of a couple hundred... But it's been a few years since we talked about it.
