Picked up a Short Stepper from another board memeber (1977GMC) today.
So I saw a short stepper for sale on the local craiglist, and it looked familiar. He put the truck together out of a bunch of different parts and had a short thread here about it:
http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=311897 Anyway, Ed and I came to an agreement and I now own the truck. (Ironically the Windshield and Front Bumper came from me 6 months ago when he put it all together). The Cab is in awesome shape for a New England truck - just a couple small spots on the rockers and cab corners. All the floors, supports and inner rockers are perfect. And the firewall seem isn't bubbling up like on all the other truck here in the Northeast. Plans: Probably get a Fleetside bed for it, as the stepper is a little on the rough side. Clean it up, get some inner fenders, paint, maybe change it back to an earlier grille. I'm not too sure I like the 88-91 Blazer/Burb grille. My buddy also has a set of aluminum wheels that he wants to trade me for the rallies. I'm not sure if the Alum. are factory but sort of look it - drilled round holes similar to Draglites. I'm still debating on if I want to or not. I'll try to keep this updated when things get moving.

If you want to sell the 89-91 front end, let me know. The truck looks solid.

Not bad Ed, that should get you a little better milage. 4cly??? I had 2 of them 4cyl/5sps - and they both got 25+ mpg.
Update on my new truck: The Stepside fenders are pretty tender, and I like the looks of a Fleet better (just my personal taste). I knew where there was a REALLY nice short Fleet, that just needed one patch on the lower rear right behind the wheel. Everything else was pretty nice. Price $600 with no gate My garage mate then says to me. "hey I gave a short Fleet to a (Mutual friend of ours) 15+ years ago. I don't think he ever used it, lets find out." We found it, and looked it all over - not too bad for Northeast sheetmetal. we go see mutual friend X and ask about it. He says "take it". well that's all I needed to hear. Remember it has lived in the Northeast all it's life, so it isn't pretty. The floor is really nice (not all beat up.) The side are pretty decent - might need a little work etc. etc., Lower rear patch panels. The price was a little better too

Played around a little yesterday, got the stepper off and the fleet just sitting on there to get it up off the ground. Thankfully Ed used new bolts when putting the stepper on and I was able to get them off very easily - otherwise I would have had to use the trusty "Firewrench"

The S10 is a 2.8 5 speed and i'm getting about 22MPG with it. It looks good with the fleetside bed on it. I have a good fender and grille from the 76 nose if you want it. Ed
