I'll be there. It's going to be muddy. That is my favorite one for buying. The Shriners is my favorite one for selling.

Re: Lawrence Kansas swap met this weekend
It draws quit a few vendors, its spread out so its hard to compare to the Woodlands/Worlds of Fun swap meet. Its always muddy there, I've been selling down there for 7 out of the 9 last years.

Re: Lawrence Kansas swap met this weekend
Anybody make it by the swap meet this evening? Curious to know how muddy the fairgrounds are. I'll assume 'very' given the amount of rain the past few days...um, I mean weeks.

Re: Lawrence Kansas swap met this weekend
It was a big mud pit! I didn't run into anyone else, went through pretty quick and was out of there in under 2 hours. Picked up a 4x4 exhaust manifold for $15 and a brake vacuum booster that looks new with perfect cadd plating but supposedly leaks for $5. Lots of big vendors missing this year, it seems to get smaller and smaller every year.

Re: Lawrence Kansas swap met this weekend
I made it through in about an hour. I'm still pretty green to the whole truck build hobby, so I didn't know much what I was seeing and I wasn't looking for anything in particular so I was moving pretty fast. I left at 3:00 and it looked like the place was already clearing out, at least for the day.
I did talk to one person though selling a posi rear end that came off a '64 Chevy, shortbed stepside. It has a 4.11 gear ratio (according to seller). He was asking $100 for the whole setup (complete axle all the way to the drum brake housing - surface rust but nothing that seemed too bad). There were trailing arms that I believe were also part of the deal. I'm not sure the leaf springs near by were included. Two questions: 1. How much needs to be included to make that a good deal? 2. Will it bolt right onto my '70 C-10 LWB? |
