tranny swap question

I have a '67 gmc with a 305 v8 with a turbo350 tranny with 3.73 rearend. I have been doing some research and believe I could swap out the tranny for a 200 4r overdrive. Has anyone here done this swap? I want to do this swap because I need to get the rpms down for highway and I believe I would not have to change the driveshaft length. Any input would be appreciated!

I have researched this myself, trans are basically the same external dimensions, and use the same tail shafts. The link above will provide you more info. May be slight differences in trans mount, but that would be easily remedied, I think this swap is much better idea than 700r4, since they (350 & 200r4) overall size, no drive shaft cutting involved and the ability to reuse your current tail shaft. Unfortunately, I recently rebuilt my 350 and since not going to be daily driver, I can live with a few more rpms and stops at th gas pump...lol. Good luck with your swap!
