Vintage air problems

hey all I posted this in the suburban forum, but I thought this truck forum could help a little more. My vintage air stopped blowing. there is a round part on the bottom of the unit where I think a hamster like wheel spins. it started rattling then it stopped and so did the air. anyone have experience repairing them? I am in Vegas and the heat is almost here. Thanks for any help

Chris
ps vintage air customer service sucks. "buy a new one" or "take it to a certified air conditioner repair place that works of vintage air" were there answers. no help in fixing or wanting to fix there unit

Re: Vintage air problems

Well, it sounds like something has fallen into the blower wheel and jambed it. Take off the "round part on the bottom of the unit where I think a hamster like wheel spins" and see whats there.

Re: Vintage air problems

also the "round thing" is the blower motor....take the blower motor off and inspect it, broken blades, spins freely, doesnt squeek or grind when spining, connect dirrectly to a battery (to make sure it turns and isnt shorted)etc...... if it is good, you may have an electrical problem, if it is bad, the brand is spal, and you can contact spal direcly (they have a web site), and get just the blower motor from them.....hope this helps ya out
