What is the best way to fix front shock mounting holes?

I will have the eng out in a few days and what to address a prolem that has been troubling me for years. The front shock bolt holes are rusted out and way to big. The head of the bolt just holds the shock in at the top of the hole. One person told me I can just take 2-3 heavy duty large washers with the correct ID for the shock bolt and weld them together then to the frame. That would be simple but I dont know if I like that Idea. If anyone else has any better sugestions let me know. Maybe some of you have experianced this same thing?

Nothing wrong with this fix that I can see. Not sure of any other ideas, as a matter of fact...Be sure your metal is clean in order to get good weld penetration.

what don't you like about the idea? I have used the washer idea several times and it works great.
when I had my truck torn down I had some thin rusted metal on two of my body mounts. I basically did the same thing, only I punched the holes out big enough to get back to good solid metal then found some big heavy washers that I could weld back into the enlarged hole.

Cool that should be a simple fix then, I figure 2 thick implement type washers on the inside and out should be plenty. I work for a oilfield company so we got plenty of choices for that at the shop. Thanks for the input, much apriciated.
