Swap meet purchase
Found a set of wheels and tires at the Pate swap meet Friday. Intro G-Cube's 17x7 (235/45ZR 17) fronts and 18x9 (255/45ZR 18)rears. I like the look of the wheels but wasn't sure about the offset's. Especially the fronts.
Here's a couple of pics. Not great quality, cell phone pics. |

Re: Swap meet purchase
Here they are on the truck with a before and after. Keep in mind I'm no where near being ready for tires since we are just getting started on a redo on the truck. Just put the lowered spindles and coils on to check fittment. It's coming all apart in the coming weeks. I only bought the wheels because I liked them and thought it was a pretty good deal. I was not in the market for wheels yet.
As I thought, the wheels sit too far inward for my taste but it may grow on me and the tires are WAY too small. Haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. Maybe new tires and live with the offsets and maybe something different all together. |

Re: Swap meet purchase
Thanks all for the kind words. I just don't like that they don't fill out the fender wells in any direction. I think that different (taller) tire sizes might help but not sure just yet.
"They give your truck a totally different look and it is for the better" That's probably just the bath that it got with the new tires. |

Re: Swap meet purchase
Thanks guys for all the compliments. I gotta say they are a little unexpected because I still think the tires are too small and don't fill the fenderwell at all (so does my dad). I'm just not a "rubberband tire" guy.
My dad and I thought they would get a 50/50 response at best. |

Re: Swap meet purchase
OK, I'll say it -- I agree with you & your Dad, I think they will look even better with a taller tire to help fill the fenderwells!

Re: Swap meet purchase
I don't care for this style wheels on older trucks but then maybe I am narrow minded. I only like retro style wheels such as torq thrust, US Indy mags, Spyder Motor Wheels, Cragar SS, Centerline Auto Drags/Convo Pros and that is about it. I think with the right size wheel/tire size is essential. I am currently running Centerline Convo Champ 500s on mine but would like to find some mint 15x8 / 15x10 Spyder Motor Wheels but that will probably never happen.
