307 spark plugs

Would a different spark plug be required if converting from a stock points system to a Pertronix Ignitor II system? The recommended plug for a stock 307 is an AC R43S. Is that what everyone else is using?

Re: 307 spark plugs

R43S is a little cold IMHO. I would and do run an R45S in our 307 gapped at .045 with an HEI. It does use a little oil, short drives etc, and the hotter plugs stay clean longer. Or an R44S would be good too.
