Does anyone know if GM offered 4 wheel drive as an option on longhorns? I know they didn't make 'em factory but has anyone done a conversion and got pics? I'd like to see 'em. Saw a longhorn that looked as tho it may have been 4 wheel drive or maybe it just had a lift kit. Sparked my couriousity...

You are correct on no factory 4X4 longhorns. While it is possable that a dealer or company has done this, I would venture to say it is not probable. Of all the pics and info I have collected in the past 4 years (with lots of help from board members) I have yet to see one claimed to be bought that way.
Here are a few pics of some that have been converted at one point or another.
I have more pics of this one.

I can't seem to find the pic of the other 4X4 longhorn I have...it is a blue one that had a corn crop in the background.
Here is another conversion that gets many questions...although not 4X4, it still is awsome.

If there was a period correct 4x4 Longhorn somewhere, it'd most likely be a Napco conversion (like on older trucks). Around the time our trucks were made Napco was fading out of the business, and was eventually sold. I think Dana/Spicer owns parts of it, but not the entire thing.

Yeah, that is the catch as to why I say not probable.
NAPCO did all the conversions before the factorys were makign them 'in house' , and they normally made the trucks look like an army vehicle. They were *normally* very high, and had real skinny tall tires. (like the old army Jeeps)
