Re: Magic Dragon Lake Ozark, MO Coverage

great pics.. I was under the hood to two rigs all weekend, and not my 72! as usual... I need to start taking some time and seeing these shows and enjoying myself instead of just looking at pics! Thanks for sharing

SacJim........... that is the strip just west of the dam. It is called Business 54. It is actually the old Hwy 54. The new road crosses the Osage River below the dam.

Great pics Nate, looks like you guys had fun. I love the late 50's Ford in the first pic, perfect stance. Oh yeah, and I still want Keith's Blazer!

Chris,... I did have a guy ask me to price the blazer. I was afraid to,... so I told him it wasn't for sale. He didn't offer anything, either. We did exchange phone numbers,... so I guess everything "is/could be" for sale. Ha.
I'd love to have a '62 Biscayne or Wagon.

I talked to him yesterday. He went home from the show Saturday afternoon.
I think maybe his work is keeping him away from the computer.

I used to cruise down there when I was a kid. Actually my first job was at the McDonalds at the lake. Went back several years later and the new highway was there. I was cornfuzed! Man those pics brought back some memories. My sister worked in the leather shop in one of the pics. She got fired when she didn't show up one day because she was with her boyfriend. Our dad hated that guy!

Re: Magic Dragon Lake Ozark, MO Coverage

I get a new pair of Mocs in that leather shop just about every year. I believe that Chevy II was unloaded from a trailer a week or so ago out in front of the place I keep my truck. Not sure who's car it is but it sounded like a bad boy.

Re: Magic Dragon Lake Ozark, MO Coverage

This sweet '56 was built by a young car builder here in Missouri. (Marshall, MO to be exact)
It's the latest from his company, Samson Design. (www.dericksamsondesign.com)
Huge attention to detail. Watch for this guy in the future. He's been building these cool cars for a few years now.

Re: Magic Dragon Lake Ozark, MO Coverage

Sorry guys, I've been away due to work. (Thanks helping me out Keith!)

Mudder, as much as I would love to see the two shows on different weekends, I doubt the Lake will ever change. This year they had 854 participants and where they parked them all I do not know because they had parking areas blocked off that had been used in previous years. I'd say due to the limited space they might keep the shows on the same weekend, but if they truly wanted to stimulate the lakes economy they would change weekends. And as you mentioned, the weather is always iffy.

Doug/GRIMSS, mark your calendar next year, you can't miss this one again.

GOPAPA, sorry I don't have any more information for you on this truck. I think that some of the people Keith and I were with new the owner of that truck. I hated to start off this thread with a Ford, but man was it nice.

sjarrett, apparently I was; I didn't even get a shot of my truck... not one! If I would have known you weren't aware of the show I would have given you a call.

Bentblazer, it was great meeting you and I will have to make it out to Rolla sometime and check out that project of yours.

SactoJim... this show is located about 30 miles south of Jefferson City which is smack-dab in the center of the state. As far as Osage, which city? (Osage City, Osage Bend, or Osage Beach; or Osage County) We love to use the same name in our state if you can't tell.

foosed, be sure to make the trip. When I signed up for the show I was told that they had someone drive 800 miles to attend. We better see you here next year.

Chris, I was a little worried the Blazer might sell.... but I think Keith was as well.

rambler, the price on the ramble was only $5,000 and it looked to be pretty well rust free.

Re: Magic Dragon Lake Ozark, MO Coverage

Super great pics guys...Looks like a real fun weekend despite the threat of rain...I love the 58 Ford p/u. 1st pic. There's a couple nice Chev ll's. I like the nostalgic racer one best. I love the 8 ball. and the one with the pipes for carb stacks. The Caddy, my heart pounds when I saw that. The Willies business coupe, SWEET...I always wanted a Willies also. I remember the first "Hotrod" I ever remember was a Biz coupe straight axle 41, I was probably 3 years old at the time, seriously. That memory has been with me my whole life.
