engine.transmission and rear end

Hello:after I do conversion to disc brakes IŽd like to start find information for power train. I have two ideas
firstable, buying a chevy capricce with 700 transmission and install engine, transmission and rear end, but wich would be the last year because some are equiped w-injectors instead of carburator and rear end could be adapted
second: same but from C10 truck but 73 and newest trucks rear ends use leaves instead of springs.
Does anybody have pictures of your truck doing similar adapt
than you
