I'm in dire need of some trim

Get your minds out of the gutter, boys

I've been watching for months on Ebay for some door panel trim for my 78 Silverado.

Here's my original door panels:

I have the center aluminum pieces, they were in pretty good condition. It's the trim that goes around the aluminum insert that I'm looking for, along with the door handle pull strap.

Anyone have a lead/source for these? Let me know if you have any spare trim (doh!)

Also looking for the bottom door carpets. Preferably gray, but more importantly that they are in good condition. I bought extra carpet with my carpet kit, so can recover them if needed.

Re: I'm in dire need of some trim

Cheyenne Truck parts out of Oklahoma are the only ones that I know of that carry the 77-80 silverado trim. I have some on some old door panels, but they don't bolt up no more, the tabs are broke. Trevor

Hey Trevor, thanks. Just purchased my dash bezel from Hank at Cheyenne Parts. I'll give them a call.

Re: I'm in dire need of some trim

I believe I have a set of trim you need, and in decent shape. The only problem, most of the studs are broken off...as typical with these door panel parts. You could easily epoxy the studs to the door panel on the back side...and never notice...unless you wanted to remove them for whatever reason.

I can take pics for you tonight when I get home.

Re: I'm in dire need of some trim

Wade, here are the pics. I tried to get good ones, but these don't photograph well at all. These are very nice, no chrome peeling at all, just broken studs on the back. Chrome is nice and bright.

What exactly is wrong with yours? I would hate to sell you these if they are in the same shape.

I was hanging on to these for a furure project....that may or may not even happen. If you can use them more than me, PM me an offer. I would rather have someone use them, than just sit on my shelf and collect dust.

Re: I'm in dire need of some trim

Hi Jeff,

Thanks, I appreciate your time in putting up the photos. Mine are in fairly good condition. The main thing I was really looking for, were the end caps and the center pull straps. As hard as these are to find, I figured I'd have to buy a full set (if I found some) to get those specific pieces, and would just use whichever trim pieces looked best from the sets.

Do you have those items as well?

Re: I'm in dire need of some trim

No, I do not have the end pieces...they all seem to break and fall off over time.

I DID have some that were intact but worn, but sold them with a bunch of other panel trim a few months ago.

Thank you, Jeff. If I run across any extra caps/pulls, I'll let you know.
