Why convert to 5-lug?
I keep seeing threads with people posting saying they converted to 5-lug. Is there a reason to do that besides more wheel options?

Re: Why convert to 5-lug?
Used to be that was the way to convert to disk brakes from later model vehicles. It was cheaper. These days, you can get aftermarket replacements with 6 lugs.
Another reason was the greater availability of newer style rims with the 5 lug designs. Seems like we have reverted back to 6 lugs on the new vehciles. |

Re: Why convert to 5-lug?
There is no cheaper way to get disc brakes than to convert to 5 lug and use a later model donor setup. That's why I always did it.

I thought about it on my Canyon. But figured it would be more trouble (read $$$$) than it was worth. |
