Re: Hey GMC guys - is this worth it??? wow!

To be honest...if that is a true NOS than thats a very good price. The repops are not near the quality as the original gates. If I was in the market for an NOS gate....I would jump all over that. Also for Chevy trucks...the Chevy Band would cover the GMC letters so that could be used for either GMC or Chevy.

Yes that is a good price and as stated that really is in line if NOS - they typically go for 5-8 hundred bucks.

I would guess it's worth every penny.I know the Chevrolet ones bring that and I would think the GMC ones are even rarer.

Looking at the pictures, it's a step side gate. Not worh $500 in my opinion.

Joshua is right.A "Fenderside"(GMC for Stepside) is worth $200-$300 compared to $500-$800 for a "Wideside"(GMC for fleetside. You gotta figure that gate was used `55-87.Not as rare nor as old as our fleetsides.I paid $200 for mine.

Re: Hey GMC guys - is this worth it??? wow!

I`ve never seen a Mar-K,but I know the OEM tailgates aren`t that strong. It doesn`t take much to bow.I guess in 1955 it didn`t matter. The gate may last forever, but stay real strait unless it`s not used for work.
