New member new truck
Well i got some good news. Sorry first of all my name is josh and i am from NY but at the present moment i am located in So Cal. My buddy works at a dealership and took in a trade on a 1980 Chevrolet C-20 longbed with a 5.7 350 and manual transmission. They gave the guy $350 for it so that is what i am buying it for. I am pretty excited to get moving on it. Its a California truck so there is very little rust on the bed only, and the frame is excellent. I will post pictures up later tonight for all of you that are interested, but i do have one question. What transmission do i have? It has a low up to the top right 1-2-3 all in an H pattern and Reverse is all the way right and down. Thanks guys Josh

Re: New memeber new truck
Hi and welcome from Santa Fe, New Mexico.
My guess on your transmission is that you have a SM465 with the "granny" low gear. Sounds like you got one helluva deal on it! Keep us posted on your progress and post pics...

Re: New member new truck
pics today guys i promise i just gotta get to the dealership and take them. They still gotta get the safety check done and smog it. i should have the truck by the 15th. anyways i wanna lower it rebuild the motor and get all the interior and exterior parts looking good. ive got an ls1 in my trans am with a vortech s/c and a t-56 i might drop in it. Depending on if i get my 408 stroker for the T/A. I also have been thinking about painting it matte black and throwing the Death Proof symbol on it hahaha. o yea and def get a cowl hood and some rims parts are so cheap vs my T/A, GTO, or even my bike (07 zx10r). for the most part itll just be something fun to work on and to haul my bike around.

Welcome to the board. You're right, this is a great board. I felt like I knew all these guys just from lurking for a few months. However, the natives will get restless without pics soon. I know, I know, they're coming.

Re: New member new truck
Hey guys here is the deal. well yesterday i went to go pick up the truck from the dealership my buddy works at and the truck was gone (he is just a salesman). anyways we got there at the same time and i was like were is the truck? he said he didnt know and he had a bad feeling it went to the auction block despite my check and agreement with the general sales manager due to the fact that there is a new general manager. so come to find out California cannot sells as is vehicles from dealers and the gm had the truck sent away. so i caught wind of all this and went and talked to the gsm and he was said he would work around it. so long story short they are getting the truck back today and having his buddy sell me the truck who is a wholesaler. so ill be checking in with them as soon as they get it back i will get the pics. once again sorry about this guys.
