Re: anyone have something fall off their truck while driving?

On the Ventura freeway in LA, one hot summer day in a beat-up, rented Ford F450 dumptruck. The steering box decides it's had enough of being attached to a bunch of bent old rods and decides to go it alone.

Steering wheel spinning uselessly in my hands, truck veering towards the embankment, Mexican laborers with me in the cab start praying and crossing themselves and muttering, "madre de dios" and "en el nombre de jesu christo" etc.

I'm standing on the brake pedal, willing and praying for that old POS truck to stop. It does, front tires just over the edge of the drop...why the hell there was no armco barrier there I dunno...
