72 grill on a 69

Hey guys Im new here and i just bought a 69 c10 swb stepside and was wandering if a 72 grill will bolt right in or will i need to modify anything. I love the look of the 72 front end it so clean. I made a huge mistake about two years ago and sold my 72 stepside cheyenne stepside it was a sweet truck it had a big block 454 in it and was just a mean truck and i have been regreting it ever since i seen her drive off. so i found this 69 cheep and decided to restore it with my dad.

Re: 72 grill on a 69

that's alright. the mods will move this in a little bit. welcome to the site by the way.

the 72 will bolt in, but the center support would have to be for a 72 also. the other thing is that the marker lights would either have to go behind the 72 grill, or you would need to get a 71-72 bumper.

Re: 72 grill on a 69

You will have to change the center support as noted but also the latch will be different as well.

Don't forget to change the outer front bumper brackets also.

Yep, that would be ideal...hood latch, center support that bolts to the latch and grille, and the grille of course

The hood latch is only really different in how the handle is so that you can reach it through the grill. It could be in the way of the grille fitting also....but I can't verify that.
