Re: Lowering a C-20
I also have a C-20, mine is a 1987. I lowered it using a kit that I purchased from Styling Concepts. There usually isn't much advertising for these kits as they are not as popular as the newer bodies style kits. The lowering package I bought included drop shackles for the rear leaf packs and lower control arms for the front. I also removed a couple of leaves from the rear, which softened the ride and lowered it a little more. The kit is made by DJM and is SUPER strong. The kit is called a 3-4 drop. However, I did modify the DJM control arms slightly, I cut off the steering stops because I could not turn the wheels very far in either direction. I still want to take the front down a couple of inches. I plan on using 1/2 ton coils or by cutting a 1 coil off of the original springs. I am running 20" wheels up front and 22" wheels out back, so I want to have sort of a raked look. Hope this helps. Check out http://www.djmsuspension.com/ for more product info.
