Sloppy shifter repair

I decided to repair the shifter on my SM 420, I've done the same thing on a LC tranny that had some slop. I removed the old pins, they were very loose, I then tapped the holes for a quarter inch bolt, cut the head off leaving a quarter to 3 eights on the bolt. Put some thread lock on it the screwed them in tightened them up, then cut off the excess. Pic's included.

Re: Sloppy shifter repair

Looks like a good solution to a sloppy shifter. Is thing something that will work on an SM465 as well??

Re: Sloppy shifter repair

Great info! I noticed sometimes the pin at the bottom of the shifter where it meets the ball needs replaced as well. Never thought about replacing the pins like you did though. Good idea
