Snap Tonneau....can I make my own?

I have a 76 stepside. Back in the day when we first built it, we had a custom snap tonneau cover put on. Of course the snaps are put right into the bed. After 15 years the vinyl cover is shot. Seems to be no one does vinyl around here, but could I make my own? A local store sells the snap rivets and gun for tarps, would it be possible to just get some vinyl and go to town?

The other option would be to have a shop that does custom canvas boat covers with snaps.

But if someone has done their own vinyl top....send some info.

Having seen it done back in the day, I suggest you have a shop build you one.

the ones ive seen where there were no supporting rods were canvas back in the day. Now the kits are cheap enough tho that you can use with the vynal covers and the ontop of the rails frame but if you have a whole bunch of snaps screwed to the bedsides that isnt going to look too nice

Found a place 40 miles away that will do it for $175. I think I'll leave it in their hands.
