Need Help IDing 87 Truck
Anybody know what model this truck is? I'm thinking it's a GMC 7000? Also, once I know what model it is, where would I be able to find technical data? I mostly need to know what type of brake system, weight of the truck as it sits, towing capacity, etc. etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Re: Need Help IDing 87 Truck
Check the glovebox and VIN. And there should be VIN like plate on the frame.

Re: Need Help IDing 87 Truck
Weight plate should be in the opening of the drivers door, and there should be a spec decal in the glove box.
It's most likely a C65 or possibly a C75 (although most of those have a second axle) (GMC's get the 5 to distinguish them from the Chevy but it's the same basic truck). Mine's a C65 w/ hydraulic 4 wheel disc brakes, 366, 5 speed, single speed rear. Mine's kind of nice in that it is under CDL (less than 26,000 lbs) here in MI. If you want to look at another one for comparison come on over, I'm about 20 min west of the bridge. Haven't got around to parting it yet (too many toys).

Re: Need Help IDing 87 Truck
I haven't seen the truck yet, just saw the ad for it and was wondering what it was, I'm not too familiar with the "big" trucks. They're only askin $1000 for it, was thinking I might pick it up to use as a hauler, depending on what it is and what the licensing restrictions on it are.

Re: Need Help IDing 87 Truck
liscense and insurance will blow your mind! my dad has a 68 international dump truck(348 V8) and liscense was something like 500 a year and insurance was around 1200. but that was considered comercial use. i dont know what that would classify as.
