Re: Moving gas tank to rear...

I bought an ECE rear mount tank in 2003 and still haven't installed it yet. Was gonna pay someone to remove the box nstal the tank and do all the fabbing for the "behind the left rear running light filler " but I am going to attempt the install myself. Does anyone know if I just remove the wooden ( which is shot) floor would I be able to manoeuver the tank and crossmember replacement without removing the box. I also have Integrated seat belt seats from a 2003 Chevy to go in once I get the in-cab tank out.

Re: Moving gas tank to rear...

Texas Big Block has it going on.
I am gonna put a tank in like he did, because he eliminated several of the drawbacks associated with rear tank swaps in one go. My Hat is off to you Sir, for doing all of the research and whatnot it took to do this swap. No fabbing up a filler door, other than the bolt in springloaded tag mount. no cutting up of the cross braces that weaken the floor structure,of the bed. the sender for the fuel gauge is compatable, it doesn't hang down and look ugly. You can get a camaro tank new, cheaper than a blazer tank.
For me, i'll do his swap before a blazer tank any day.
Thanks TexasBigBlock!!!!
