Bed strips

Dose anyone know where I can get some old bed strips in decent shape for cheep??? I don't want to get new ones it just won't look right.

you can get new steel ones from LMCtruck for around 50 bucks I think. I just bought them this weekend and paint them to look old or set the out to rust for a little while. I looked for used one to no avail and then just ordered the plain steel ones not the stainless polished ones. Just a thought

You can age the steel using muratic acid (used for treating swimming pools), it will speed age bare steel. Put it on and let it set, reapply until you get the right patina. When satisfied use vinegar to stop the process. Seal with a matte clear. We do it to instant age hardware, corrugated sideing, etc. for old building decor. If you save the paper towels you use to wipe the vinager off, you can re-dampen them and use them to turn wood grey like its been aged. I use it to touch up end cuts for old barn wood trim, just get them a little damp and dab on the wood.
