Headliner help

so I just got done going through 4 pages of search results on "headliner" in this forum. and I didn't find what I am looking for. I am going to re-glue my old headliner. I have the fabric off already and the trim. but I don't know how to get the foam off in one piece. do I just go around on the edge with a razor blade and cut the glue from the metal or is there some other way?

Also, when I go to take it off, or put it back up. am I going to need to UN-bolt the seat belts? if so, how? I have a socket big enough to go around it but I just couldn't seem to get a good enough bite on it. the socket I have is a deep socket and it seemed like it just didn't fit right to work. is there a special socket/wrench for it?

thanks!

Re: Headliner help

You will have a hard time getting the foam off of the existing cardboard headliner in one piece. I usually scrape all the old foam off and get new foam and glue new fabric (you can get these items at any large fabric store cheap). At one around here they sell new headliner material with the foam attached. On the seatbelts, there is not a special socket, you have to keep the socket square on the bolt or I have better luck with a standard socket.
