lost a rod, need some advise!

so I went to start my truck the other day (1983 c-10 383stroker.)
And heard a "knocking" so after pulling the valve covers I discovered that every one of my roller rockers was lose. one of them was missing the rod. i looked down inside the head and saw the rod down in the valley. So I plan to replace all the rods. does anyone recommend a good brand of rods that are easy on the wallet, and what are the torque specs for the rockers? Thanks!

Re: lost a rod, need some advise!

Sounds like the problem is not your pushrods but more likely the locking nuts (either friction or poly locks)

The rockers don't have torque specs, you tighten the nuts to the proper valve lash. If you have friction nuts, do not reuse them, get a fresh set otherwise they will loosen up on you, if you have roller rockers they normally come with poly locks that have an allen set screw inside, loosen the set screw, adjust the lash and then tighten the set screw to lock the nut in place.
