How about some frames painted other than black
My truck is going to be red and I am wanting to do the frame something other than black. Just to be different I guess. Any reasons for not going that way?? Anyone got pictures of what they did??

Go for it! There are pics somewhere around here where one guy painted his frame red. Looks dang good too. It was pretty cool seeing something other than the normal black.

Can't remember who it was, but they did a silver toned gray metallic, it was awesome!

Re: How about some frames painted other than black
Is there much of a reason other then cost that people paint their frames black? Or would it require stripping the gunk and rust off the frame to actually paint it?

Re: How about some frames painted other than black
if your gonna paint you gotta get rid of the gunk and rust.this will make the paint stick and not flake off as quick. sandblasting is probally the easist way to do so. just my .02 cents worth. good luck with it!

Re: How about some frames painted other than black
I wanted a charcoal kind of a deal. Couldn't find exactly what I wanted but ended up with this greyish blackish sort of a thing. Truck is going to be a deep blue. Just didn't want an acre of black underneath.

Re: How about some frames painted other than black
just a suggestion here guys done it a few times on some mopar frontends i helped my dad build on his cars: we tinted the primer to desired color then cleared saves a little money and time, but if you sandblast best to use etching primer on bare metal
