Saturday pics (5-16) BLU67...
Hey gang!! I managed to come up with something different for you this week! I've got a buddy with a nice lil 67 stepper that needed his front springs swapped out. He put Brian and I on the task since he knew we have a bit of experience with these things. I thought I'd use his truck for the subject of this weeks Saturday pics. His pickup turns up in my photos from time to time as he's a fellow "Worthless" cruiser. This truck was purchased by his grandfather in 1967 and then passed on to my buddy when he graduated high school (at least I think that's when he got it).
Anyway...On to some pics of BLU67! Cool tailgate mod... |

Is his windshield tinted as well? Do you happen to know what level of tint was used?

Re: Saturday pics (5-16) BLU67...
The windshield tint has kinda become a "Worthless" thing. Most people don't think about doing it, but it's really nice and you won't want to drive a car with a clear windshield once you've had one tinted. I'll have to ask him what % it is but most of us that have had it done usually run the back glass in Limo and the doors at 35% which is legal... The windshields are usually done at 35% or one shade lighter. (not legal).
I've never had a problem with law enforcement...They only check your doors and rear glass. My little brother was stopped several times by a state trooper that has a reputation for being one of the strictest and toughest in the area when he was still doing the mini truck thing. It baffled the trooper as to how the windows looked so dark but always checked legal with his meter. I'm not an advocate of blatantly breaking the law just to be doing it, but a tinted windshield is nice! The interior temps stay cooler, the better tints block UV rays that will damage and fade the interior, glare is cut down considerably...and those jerks that refuse to dim their lights at night won't be near as noticeable either! |

Re: Saturday pics (5-16) BLU67...
Sorry didn't get to finish my post. {work} The blue is a nice color. That tint is nice in the summer months the only thing I would have to say about it is it's a little harder to see things at night with the tint. My daughter's eclipse is this way it makes me worry some about her at night seeing stuff.
The truck is sweet though no matter what. PINK I don't think even in the 80"s I would drove it!!!!

Re: Saturday pics (5-16) BLU67...
Very nice truck. My first 67-72 was a 67 SWB stepper the same color, although not in near as good a shape.
I like the wheel/tire combo too. Looks like a 18" wheel and a 50/55 series tire?

Re: Saturday pics (5-16) BLU67...
Thanks guys!
The wheels are 17x8 Boyd Coddingtons. I think the tires are a 255/55. I don't remember what the fuel door came from, but it seems like he was trying to make it open from inside the cab and it never worked out for him. This truck was a powder blue when it was new. I think the color on it now is called sky blue. |
