Sub dual a/c problem
My 72 sub dual a/c system won't hold freon. Leaks out in 2 -4 weeks. Used dye. No leaks found. Anyone had a similiar problem? Is there a "likely" place to look? This things got me frustrated!

Re: Sub dual a/c problem
did you check all along the hoses going to the back? Rubber hoses run under thet ruck and then up through the paneling on the passenger side

Re: Sub dual a/c problem
I found a leak in one of the hoses running underneath, the "holding" clamp weakened and had rubbed against the drivshaft. I probably would of noticed the sound except my stereo's too loud

Re: Sub dual a/c problem
Thanx for the info, but I've checked the lines as much as is accessible. Thanx to some one else's problem that I read about, I am familiar with the routing of the lines. I don't look forward to having to replace those lines.

Re: Sub dual a/c problem
I replaced my lines a couple years ago. It is not very hard.Remove the door panel and side panel, and you will have no problem.

Re: Sub dual a/c problem
I bought mine online from ackits.com. You buy it in bulk. I reused the factory hose ends and clamps. I also used Nylog O-Ring Lubrication to coat the fittings and orings. It helps to seal them. I have not had any problems with leakage.

Re: Sub dual a/c problem
If you cant's find a leak with the dye it may be one of the evaporator cores leaking inside the a/c boxes. best to access the boxes and make sue it is not an evaporator. The dye will find it's way out with the freon.
