Finally!!!!
Over the last couple of months I have been building a 406 to put into my '71. After a few head scratchers, the motor was installed.
Unfortunately I got sick during the process so I wasnt able to get my hands dirty putting this thing in but......I got the honor of getting the engine running. And run it does...actually at idle speed (600 rpms) this thing doesnt roar...........it WHISPERS. Still a few items to button up yet but nothing to serious.

Re: Finally!!!!
As this post says..............FINALLY!!!! The "Nightmare on Elm Street" (yes I live on ELM Street) is done. After fighting with a screwed up clutch and getting it replaced with a new 12" LUK unit (the screwed up one was a 11' LUK kit that for some reason didnt lay flat on the flywheel and wouldnt allow anything to disengage) . Im DONE.
I already love the power of the 406, and the power of this motor deserves to have a manual behind it. Although my friends that helped me kept (and are still trying to) talk me into putting an auto in. Still need to install my Flotech "Red Hots" glasspacks (2.25 in/out) though. HEHEHEHEHEHE

Re: Finally!!!!
I guess its all in the personal preference. Next project though is gonna be a tranny upgrade still havent decided between a 5spd Manual or a TH350,400 or 700R4.
