Re: trans rebuild ?s
If you have to rebuild it anyway, might as well throw in a shift kit...I buy the more expensive trans coolers that orievancezone sells, they give me good service.

Re: trans rebuild ?s
it will help with towing for sure. Im ASE certified in trannys and i can tell you a shift kit will prolong the life of your tranny by a lot. the less time between shifts the less friction, wear, and heat. as for tranny coolers they are all pretty much the same, the biggest you can get the better, the main cause of tranny failure is heat. the extra price of a large tranny cooler with a fan is much less than a rebuild

Re: trans rebuild ?s
I'll third that, about the shift kit. Those TH-400s in a Caddy,Olds 98 or other land-barge were designed so you never even noticed a shift so the shifts were very soft (long). For a truck, and especially for towing get a kit but not a race kit.

Re: trans rebuild ?s
Get a shift kit designed for towing.I would use one in a truck even if I weren't using it to tow a lot.I would definitely run the biggest cooler available and If they offer a tranny filter(external) I would seriously consider one.

Re: trans rebuild ?s
Another vote for the shift kit! And I like Tru cool LPD (low pressure drop) coolers myself. its what my two friends shops install and it is what I installed on my truck. this will help explain it better.
http://www.performancetransparts.com...ction=VIEWCATS edit. They make different sizes, not just "long" you just have to google them. .
