Bucket seat ideas for K5...

Seems that you C10 owners have more experience in customizing your interior than us K10 owners...lol. Looking to replace my stock bucket seats for something more rearend friendly on long hauls...not looking for a brand new in the box solution...something maybe found in the local wrecking yard that works well and is comfortable...any ideas...pics?

Not sure what you are looking for, but have you though about newer Blazer/Jimmy Seats?

N2TRUX used extended cab seats from the non-third door models (I think)

man, a white interior. I heard those exist.

Not for me though, I'd never be able to keep my greasy hands off it.

Either way, those seats looked really nice. But the first 2 links wouldn't work for me.

Chris do you have any idea on how hard it was to install those on N2TRUX's blazer? I love those seats and can get them here reasonablly priced. I just want to make sure I'm not getting into anything too much trouble

My Dad has a 96 GMC ext cab with the 3rd door, his seats are identical to that. Looks like a good possibility....

The seats in N2TRUX's Blazer are grey....
As for how hard they were to install, well he said they were a pain, but I am sure it isn't THAT hard, but they mount flat as it is mounted in a Blazer and not a pickup.

Greg, he used the non-3rd door model because the pass seat slid forward for rear seat access, the ones with the 3rd door I don't think had this option. Like I said before, these were mounted in a Blazer.

Anyone else can't see my pics? Weird. They are a '91 interior put in a 78 Jimmy.

Chris how would they mount different from a truck to a blazer? I thought they would be the same?

Blazers don't have the hump in the floor for the tanks, as it's at the rear.

Doug,
What more info are you looking for?
The way I mounted mine, I set up a cardboard sheets on the floor and "bolted" it down using the stock seat mounting holes (as they are stronger). Then I located the seat between the mounting holes and then marked the seat outline and hole locations onto the cardboard. Took the seat out and then marked where the metal needed to be removed. Since the 73-88? used the flip seat, I U-bolted the rear down on the passenger side.

You can use this same procedure for yours as I think N2TRUX did about the same thing.

Pretty much these pics are the documentation I have.

I would like the exact make and model...year range availability of those seats. Then i can start shopping for a set.

Isn't that a 78 K5 you got there...got one just like it in the back yard...same colors and all.

Bucket seats

If you wanted the years on the gray bucket seats, that style was from 95-99 Chevy and GMC. Just make sure you get the passanger side with the tilt/slide foward.
Another option would be a set of bucket style seats out of a "conversion van". I found a set in a van my nieghbor was parting out. The passanger side one slides and folds foward just like a 2 DR. Blazer would, and the nice part about them is they are highbacks and will recline. Not to mention they have lots of cushion and are great to set on. Mine need to be recovered in another material before they are done.
Check the boneyards, there are alot of nice seats that should work.

Yep, It is. I got a pourly ran exhaust put on it this weekend and to top it off they didn't have the muffler, so I am no better off than before.... I did get it washed though and I think I can "fix" the screw up when I get the muffler.
