Vin question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Ok my 71 chevy shortbox, Its a 2wd body on a newer 4wd frame (73-87). On top of the passenger side frame rail stamped in is C5Z118847. The C looks like a C. Maybe a O. I looked all over the net but nothing sounds right. What year is the frame? Original engine?

The frame is almost definately factory 4wd. Did they make a 350 diesel 4x4?

no, it is stating that it was either a v8 350 or a diesel. Diesel engines from the gen was i believe a 6.2L.

I gotcha now. Your probly right now. What cam are you running in you 489? My 496 is almost done, similar to yours. Ill be dynoing it soon.
