Re: factory speaker help

you will have to go with turnswitch.com as 67chip72 recommended. your original radio requires a 8 to 10 ohm speaker. you cannot use the replacement that LMC advertises because it is 4 ohm and will fry your original head unit after a while.

I bought the turnswitch.com speaker and was very pleased! fits like original and made in the US!!!! $49.95

Re: factory speaker help

67CHIP72 and tcb-1 are spot on. Turnswitch provide direct fit speakers that are electrically correct. I bought mine there and they were very helpful when I was asking questions. tcb-1 is correct that our radios were designed for 8-10 ohm speakers. Most after market speakers are 4-6 ohms. As a matter of fact...I purchased a dual cone front speaker so I could run my GM 8 Track player.

Re: factory speaker help

If you have a core, contact Mel (classic chevy I think) he can rebuild one for you. There is also one on ebay right now, don't have item number handy.

That speaker and harness on ebay happen to be mine. I haven't mentioned it because I don't know what the etiquette is for mentioning ebay items since I'm not yet a site supporter.

Hi red71c10 ... Normally we discourage this type of selling but your straight up honesty is appreciated. By the way... and from Ohio.
