How do I: Change out the Vent Window Assembly

Need to replace the driver's side vent window.

I did a search and found this thread, which seems to indicate I can remove/replace the vent window without removing the door glass. Am I reading this right?

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...vent+window%22

Also - it appears my truck has the two piece seals, which I am under the impression it should not have.

At any rate, any tips would be appreciated.

K

you do not have to remove the large window you have to lower it though.. its easiest to replace the whole glass tho if the big window is in good shape and moves easily

Re: How do I: Change out the Vent Window Assembly

Thanks, guys. Got 'er done this weekend.

It wasn't too bad: I was able to replace the vent window without pulling the door glass. The hardest part was getting one of the phillips screws loose!

I also replaced all the rubber on the driver's door. The LMC rubbers fit the vent window pretty well; it was a little tricky getting the rubber on the window track at the rear of the door and the attachments didn't quite line up with the slots in the door itself but not bad considering.

I need to do the same thing on mine. I was considering the one piece windows though. I never use the vent window anyway.
