Help!! heater/defrost
i need help.. my truck is finally close to being done. i dont have a good heater box so i wont have time to get a new one then install it. i want my truck to be inspected this week.
my aunt told me about these heater/defrosters that plug into the cigarette lighter and they are little heater/defrost units http://www.tyresonline.net/images/products/1013_1.jpg http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg those are it but my question is...if i have that in my truck with no heater box but that thing still does a defrost will my truck pass inspection?? any info would be nice thanks guys!! |

I've never heard of a working defrost or heater being a requirement for inspection, but that again I live in Texas and don't have to use a heater very often.

I've never known of a heater or defroster to be part of an inspection either. I do know it's illegal to drive around without your windshield clear though.

PA has some insane inspection laws.... some areas there are flat out stupid.
If you were to fab some block off plates, you could try and tell the inspector that it was a heater delete truck... that was possible till the 73 models came out, but they may not care and say that it obviously had a heater. You'll probably want a block off plate anyways since they'll fail you for a hole in the firewall. You might end up having to wait till the truck is done? |
