what to do next
Ok,
With the help of several board members, I've successfully installed new trailing arms/suspension/shocks for the rear of my '67 c10 stepside. I've included picts of the old trailing arms.... I couldn't believe that the former owner tried to bondo them.... the rear left spring was barely holding on.... I'm trying to decide what to do next. I'm thinking front suspension and front disc conversion... any advice as to where to get the best deal on front suspension or a complete front disc conversion would be greatly appreciated..... I also sanded and pur15'ed the chassis while I was at it. -Chris |

Re: what to do next
That was alot of salt damage...I would check everything up front on the suspension and frame. Great job, BTW!

Probably the most economical way to go is to use a front cross member from a '71-'87 with disc brakes. Although this will convert the front to 5 bolt lugs. If you want to spend more money and keep the 6 lug disc brakes. Eearly Classic Enterprises (ECE) makes, in my opinion, some of the best suspenion and brake components out there.

Those trailing arms are typical of the rust belt junk. Sucks huh?

Nice Job.
I agree with the front disk, possible power steer, power brake option. I found a good deal on Craigs list for complete truck with lowered spindles for the cheap. Keep up the good work. |

Re: what to do next
cool... yes, I got those lovely trailing arms from fine69 lol. A little elbow grease and pur 15 and they were brand new. I'm thinking of doing the front suspension/brakes at the same time since I'll be in there dissassembling everything. hmmm.... so many decisions so little time. I'll check out ECE but also look into a donor vehicle.... just figure if i'm going to spend the money on new front suspension then go all the way and yes I HATE road salt... ratsa fratsa....
