Heater Delete
Does anyone know what the dash parts look like on heater delete trucks? What do they use for the defrost vents on the top of the dash? What part of the world would be the best to try and find one of these setups to at least see what they look like? I'm trying to build my truck to look like a factory racer with an LS motor- think C6R. Also, anyone on the forum do renderings that are affordable?

Re: Heater Delete
I have never seen or heard of a truck with no heater, although I'm sure somewhere one exists. Someone will pipe in.

Re: Heater Delete
This forum is the only place where I have even found pictures of a heater delete so I was hoping there might be someone that has one still on the truck. Anyone in Hawaii?

Re: Heater Delete
I have an extra radio delete that I think is the same size as the heater control blockoff. I just wanted to see what the rest of the setup looks like.

Re: Heater Delete
the radio delete is not exactly the same dimensions as the heater delete plate. it also attaches differently to the dash.
however, if you do use the radio plate, post a pic of it after you have it installed. I've been thinking about going heater delete as well.

Re: Heater Delete
i have no idea just throwing an idea out there, but i bet you a place down in the U.S virgin islands you could find something like that. I have never been, but my dad has and he says there are tons of old trucks sitting around... heater delete stuff is something you could easily put in the suitcase
I bet you it'd be your wife's favorite swap meet EVER.

Re: Heater Delete
I love my heater and wouldn't give it up even if I was doing a $100,000 overhaul. I'm also considering doing something very taboo: I may CUT THE DASH and put in a decent stereo. I'm tired of these poorly made Custom Auto Sound deals.

Re: Heater Delete
I have been hitting Craigslist in all the places where these trucks were sold that isn't America and can't seem to find one. I found a truck on CL in Hawaii, but the dude wasn't too keen on helping out a mainlander. Anyone in Mexico want to help out?
Also, I have other vehicles to drive if it's too cold to go without a heater, and I never use AC- just roll down the windows and pull the side vents! |

Re: Heater Delete
Just chiming in and suggesting that you fabricate one?? It doesnt look too tough to do especially if you have the dimensions, or did you have to have a OEM one?

Re: Heater Delete
ironically, I just picked up a firewall heater delete plate off of Ebay for $50 (from Florida).
the delete plates are out there..... you just have to keep your eyes peeled. I would think in Cali, you be able to find them in salvage yards by the handful! you may advertise for one in NV, AZ, UT, and NM Craigslist??? wouldn't hurt..

Re: Heater Delete
The first one I have ever seen was this year at the Monroe Swap Meet. ETsC10 purchased one thinking it was a radio delete but Livrat pointed out that it was just too small...there was a long pause as we all stared at this thing trying to figure out what it was. Livrat finally broke the silence with the words that I will now remember forever..."That my friends...is a seldom seen heater delete!" I should have taken a picture of it to post along with the pics of the swap meet.

Re: Heater Delete
Here in Nor Cal, there's about zero trucks without heaters- I know because I look at all the yards- salvage and private- and can't find one! I thought about making one myself, but I don't want it to look like I made it myself. I dunno, there's just something about factory parts that makes a theme work better. Kind of like a factory hoodscoop being cool and an aftermarket one making you look lame for cutting a hole in your hood.
