Headlamp Warning Buzzer ?

Anyone have this option or know exactly what it is ?I was looking at a pic of the option sheet in my 77 shorty and noticed it ? I dont remember seeing it in any of the other trucks I have had . This truck is a high option truck and I just wondered if the guy I bought it from actually checked that as an option when ordering it .

Re: Headlamp Warning Buzzer ?

my guess would be an "alarm" that sounds when the headlights are on and the the ignition is off so the battery does not get drained. Basically a reminder to turn the headlights off.

Never seen that. 77 was kind of an odd year with lots of 1 year only stuff so who knows.

who wants that as an option?

I think my 91 suburban does have one though, and it's an almost no option truck.

Call me an odd ball, but I do. I like to cruise with the park lights on at dusk. It's not uncommon for me to forget to turn them off when I park. That buzzer would be a handy feature.

That would be a cool option. I tell you what I have an 03 Sierra and it has the automatic headlight system. That is what will spoil you. Then when I get into my 84 I always forget to turn the headlights off until I get out, and wonder D'oh!

Re: Headlamp Warning Buzzer ?

I had to add a headlight chime to my 75 because of coming out of a store and finding my lights on or dead battery.

Take a chime module out of a GM vehicle (something like 1985 and up) and hook one wire to the doorjamb switch and the other wire to the light switch.

If any one is interested I can take a picture of the chime module.

Re: Headlamp Warning Buzzer ?

my 90 blazer has that option. It worked for me tonight. It wasn`t quite dark but everyone else had their lights on so Iturned them on. Forgot to do it when I got home and heard the buzzer. My blazer has the silverado pachage so it may be standard with that set up.
