New Gate
Nothing fancy, but I got a new place on an acre of land, probably 0.6 or so of it is fenced in the back yard... and no vehicle access. How am I supposed to put my trailer and boat in the back yard?

Re: New Gate
I unhooked the fence and knocked out the old pole. I bought a new gate set at Lowes with posts, hinges, etc. Not cheap. I think I spent $130!
I got the gate roughed in and quit for the day. It's a lot of work doing it by yourself.

Re: New Gate
The next day I got everything squared up and put some cement mix in my holes to firm up the poles. Nice and level, my dad would be proud

Re: New Gate
The final step was to cut the old fence down to fit, that was a real pain. I slipped the bar down in place and I used a C-Clamp to pull it tight so I could get the bolts in. I slipped on the first one and crushed my finger... ooops....
I also trimmed down the poles a couple inches so they were square, squared up the gates (they were a little bent up), put some caps on and called it a day Now I can get in my back yard! I've already got a trailer full of trash the previous owners left for me That's it, hope y'all enjoyed the read. Working on the house is keeping me sane. When I get farther along I'll post a bunch of pics of the house interior remodel.

Re: New Gate
Good work Jesse. I learned a lot about fencing (that I never really wanted to know) after Katrina. Glad to see your getting the house together.

Re: New Gate
Thanks Bill! Yes, I have done a lot to the interior. Lots of wall repairs and smoothing. Got a few rooms primed. I should be painting some ceilings and walls this weekend! We have carpet people coming June 19-ish so that should give us about a week and a half to move everything in.
I had to take all of the shelving out of the garage too. It was that cheap plastic coated wire stuff. After one of them came crashing down after putting an alternator and water pump on it... I "helped" the rest come down.
