Speedy windows & not... so... speedy

Today I spent my time tearing out my door panels to lubricate my power windows. From what I can tell, the passanger side door panel had never been taken off. There was paper stuff stuck to the door with some black crap. Ick! On the back of the switches, there were also caps you rotate to get the wires off. What happened to the drivers side knobs??? The drivers side has been taken of before, as all the screws were mixed up and those knobs were missing. Aggravating! I lubed just about everything in the doors, and everything seems to work better. The passanger side power window went half the speed of the drivers before. Now it beats it!!! It went just as fast as our Tahoes! When I put the door back together it went slower, but still faster than the drivers. Lubricating the drivers side window had no effect whatsoever!!!! I look down the tracks & pieces of felt were hanging off, so obiously the felt had gone bad & disintegrated. Too bad. The only other thing I did today was FINALLY hook up my tach light wire so it will light up with the gauges at night. Other than wanting to beat my truck, I'm ok! Don't worry, I'd never do that to her!

I had a problem with a slow window and it turned out to be a weak motor.

The tracks that the windows slide down in and no I'm not going to fix it. It would mean I would have to tear the door apart. It is pretty small in there - knowing me I would break something. My like it would be the glass It works for now so that is what I am concerened about... things need to work!

Silicone is the best stuff to use. Comes in a spray can at any auto parts store.
