gas tank anti-squeek kit?

anyone order the anti- squeek kit for the gas tanks from lmc? i'm just wondering what exactly they send. is it just like the strips from the factory? or some kinda cheap rubber that just sticks on? and do i even need it?

i ask because few weeks back i spent $25 on an order of bolts for the front x member (supposed to press in and hold the upper A arms and shims) and they sent me just regular bolts and nuts that arent even long enough let alone press in to the crossmember. and i'm kinda hesitant on ordering from them again. thanks, Dennis

Cut up some old mud flaps and you have anti-squeak strips... Save the money and get yourself a six pack.

Why don't you just use some 2" camper tape and be done with it?

My dad used some supermarket checkout conveyor belt when we replaced the tank on his '87.

Re: gas tank anti-squeek kit?

I used some extra tool box drawer liner I had laying around when I replaced the tank in my 73 last year. Works very well.

Re: gas tank anti-squeek kit?

How about installing louder mufflers, this way you won't ever notice the squeek?
