Front End Question

Are the spindles and hubs from a six lug, '69, C10 interchangeable with a C20 same year?

I thought the lower arms were different. The ball joint is larger in diameter and won't fit into a 1/2 ton arm.

I believe you are correct. swapping to a 1/2 ton LCA may solve that, and changing the upper balljoint.

why not go disc though?

Other way around 1/2 and 3/4 ton A-arms are the same, the LOWER BALL JOINT is bigger (the shaft, not the part that presses into the A-arm) on the 3/4ton, thus if going to 3/4 ton spindle, use the 1/2 ton A-arms and swap the lower BJ to 3/4 tons and you are golden! I second the why not go discs!?

I beg to differer. When I was looking to do a cheap disc brake upgrade and use spindles (which I bought) from a 88-98 LD 3/4 ton (per instructions found on this site), it stated you had to change the lower A-arms to 3/4 ton, so you could use the late model 3/4 ton ball joint and spindles. I went to NAPA and compared the early 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton and late model 3/4 ton. The early 1/2 ton ball joint size (the part that presses into the arm) was noticeably smaller and mic'ed out smaller. I didn't save the numbers so I don't recall them but they were different between the 1/2 and 3/4 ton sizes. The lower A-arms are different.
