loud popping from the exhaust? Old gas?

Well the 84 is running like dog.. well you know what. It idles okay but every few revolutions I hear a popping cumming out the exhaust. Truck has sat since 06-07 but has been fired evey once in a while and never ran like this. I did add stabil to the gas before storage. But I think it expires after 2 years. Does this sound like an old gas problem??

If it is old gas what can I do to remedy it? I have heard of "drygas" and other such products would they help??

Thanks for any input... next time I drain the tanks..............

drain the fuel system change the filter, add a bottle of seafoam to the tank.. and clean everythign with carb cleaner..
pull and chec your plugs also..
stabil dosent stop moiture from getting into the gas...
and it does not work for years at a time..
i stored my car for my trip to the sandbox and came back.. i still nly used the gas in the tank long enough to get the car on the trailer (at the storage facility) and then into the driveway...
then... after that stuff... shouldnt cost you mor ehten 30 bucks to do it all..
run some seafoam in your oil for a couple of weeks (like 1/3 of a bottle) as a conditioner to make sure all your vaulve seals and such are good and clean..

then vaccum tune your carb just to make sure..
good luck

If you have been just starting it and letting it run to keep it lubed, you may have fouled a plug from the choke being on. If you don't drive it, these things happen. I'd check the plugs first. Old gas sucks.
