fr tire has a bad camber after i switched to disc brakes in front..

okay, when i swapped to discs and diff. front wheels i noticed a slight camber in my front wheel.........my right front wheel to be exact. well i took it to get aligned today, and they couldnt align it because it had too much of a camber, lucklily they didnt charge me anything, i asked the man who worked on it he said i couldnt be the way i put the spring in..im thinkin

#1 spring went in crooked or upside down
#2wheel is bent/warped(truck wheel came off of had slight fender bender)
#3 spindle is warped bent

gonna fool with it tomorow...

Wish I had a good answer for you, but know what you mean. When i did mine, my camber was way off. When I had it alligned, they removes all the shims from the pass. side, about 5 of them, and the dr. side only has one left of about 5. I don't know why is was sooooo off. Used same springs, maybe was the way the balljoints fit-more distance between lower control arm and the spindle or it the '85 spindles are actually "taller" but have not seen anyone claim that around here.

you never got it aligned and still running a off camber tire huh...bummer id liek to get it alinged..anybody else

did you replace the balljoints hen you did the swap?

other than that it may be the spring not aligned, or upside down in the pocket.

if that doesnt fix it it sounds like something may be bent....just a guess.

Same problem here. Spring upside down, hadn't thought of that.

Spring may not be seated but can you put it upside down??

Warped wheel would be easy to detect by jacking up and spinning. It will wobble.

I would lean toward the bent spindle.

Never heard of a spring being upside down.. they are the same on both ends .... just need to be seated correctly in the pocket..... Bent or totally worn out balljoints. surprised the alignment shop didnt check for play in the suspension and say what you needed to have replaced....

No no...I got it aligned, thus the removal of most of the shims. Aligned real well, until I replace the trailing arm bushings that is...

Fellas, you can't put the spring in upside down. It is pigtailed significantly on the top end. It wouldn't fit into the lower control arm notch if it were upside down.

The spring itself has absolutely nothing to do with the alignment anyway, so that can't be an issue.....and certainly the alignment place checked for a bent wheel?
Exactly how did you "swap from drums to discs"?
I am going to assume stock spindles because of your mention of "drop spindles" as a potential cure? ...so did you swap the control arms or ball-joints in this process? Entire crossmember?
You stated that the wheels came from a fender-bender, what about your swap parts?

Alignment shop did...just didn't want to mess with that part.
