$25 Tool Box

Here is my solution to two problems;
1=Where to put all the spare bits one needs to drive a old truck.
2=How to limit the weight one puts in a tool box.
I made the frames out of angle iron and rod and welded it with stainless stick.
I couldn't bring myself to paint it silver to match the liner because I am used to OD on ammo cans.

Do you have some sort of liner or something in your bed?
The shapes on the bed look different then normal.

Eddie,
It is a full bed liner that has been there since it was new (1984).

I made sure they were water tight before I welded the locks on by filling them with water and putting them on a dry surface.
They both leaked through little holes in the very top of the lid (four of them). This will let the tools inside get nice and rusty real quick!
It took several passes with a welding rod before I completely filled up the little holes. "Stuff" kept outgassing and blowing out my weld.
Also notice the fire extinguisher in the cab.
EVERYONE should have one of those and it was easy to make the little plate it mounts on. It is just a piece of flat stainless measuring 7" long and 4" tall.
I got the bottle at a welding supply shop nearby 'cause I did not want one of the Walmart types with a plastic valve on it.
